
Crédit Agricole PE et al. invest €7.5m in EyeTechCare
Crédit Agricole PE and insurance company SHAM have provided medical devices developer EyeTechCare with a €7.5m round of funding.
Crédit Agricole provided €4.5m while SHAM invested €3m. EyeTechcare had already raised €1.2m in 2008 from Crédit Agricole PE and CEA-Investissement. The new funds will be used to complete the first clinical trial on humans, as well as establish the manufacturing facilities and the sales and marketing force required for the company's first product.
EyeTechCare was founded in 2008 and is based in Rillieux-la-Pape, near Lyon. It specialises in non-invasive therapeutic medical devices using ultrasound technology. The company is currently developing a novel ultrasound-based medical device for the treatment of glaucoma. Its market launch is scheduled for early 2011.
