Trade body Afic rebrands to France Invest
French private equity trade body Afic (Association Francaise des Investisseurs pour la Croissance) has rebranded to France Invest.
The rebrand reflects the trade body's ambitions to focus on international recognition for the French private equity industry, which has recorded strong dealflow and increasing commitments in recent years.
Founded in 1984, the organisation was originally named Association Française des Investisseurs en Capital (French Association of Investors in Capital). It went through a minor rebrand in 2012 to change its name to Association Française des Investisseurs pour la Croissance (French Association of Investors for Growth), as it was at the time aiming to highlight the industry's credentials as a growth driver.
With its sights set on the international investment community, France Invest stated it would stick to its current objective of seeing French private equity funds raise €20bn a year by 2020, representing a two-fold increase in five years.
