
Equistone completes acquisition of Meilleurtaux.com
Equistone has wholly acquired real estate mortgage adviser Meilleurtaux.com from French banking group BPCE for an estimated €20m.
The GP entered into exclusive negotiations with the vendor in February this year, as reported by unquote". The company's owner had mandated HSBC to find an exit from the firm, which it backed in 2007 shortly before the sub-prime mortgage crisis.
BPCE increased its stake and delisted the business in 2009, for an overall investment reported to stand at nearly €200m.
BPCE is currently following a strategic plan to dispose of non-core subsidiaries and joint ventures.
