Omnes backs Batiweb SBO
Omnes Capital has backed the secondary management buyout of French construction-focused online portal Batiweb.
Omnes Capital invested €4m via its small-cap funds LCL Expansion 2 and LCL PME Expansion 2 to secure a minority stake in the business. The company's founder and manager, Nicolas Ricart, will own the majority of the business.
Corporate venture player Matmut Innovation and other co-investors also took part in the deal.
Banque Populaire and BNP provided a financing package for the transaction, with leverage described as moderate.
Ardian, which backed Batiweb in 2008, sold its stake in the company as part of the transaction. Omnes stated it had secured the deal after a preemptive approach stemming from previous contacts with Ricart and the Ardian Growth team.
In parallel with the share capital reshuffle, Batiweb acquired Habitat Trade, which offers a similar service. The combined group generates a €10m turnover. Batiweb is looking at additional acquisitive growth opportunities in the future under its new ownership structure.
Company
Founded in 2003 and based in Montigny, Batiweb operates an internet portal aiming to allow construction professionals to connect with potential clients.
