Serena et al. back Privateaser
Serena Capital, Isai and FJ Labs have invested €10m in French venue-reservation app developer Privateaser.
The round was led by Serena, which invested €5.1m in Privateaser. A spokesperson for Serena confirmed that its Serena 2 vehicle was used for the transaction; it closed on €130m in June 2015, according to Unquote Data.
Kerala Ventures backed the company in 2015, investing €300,000. Isai then backed Privateaser for the first time in 2016, investing €3m. The company has received total funding since inception in 2014 of €14m.
The new round of funding will allow the startup to recruit another 40 employees in the next 18 months.
In the next five years, Privateaser will seek to expand in several European geographies, and aims to generate a turnover of up to €500m.
Company
Privateaser's app allows individuals and companies to organise events in venues located in several French and Spanish cities. Bars, restaurants, rental rooms, houseboats, rooftops and hotels can be booked via the app.
Founded in 2014, the company claims to have collaborated with 3,800 companies, including BNP Paribas, Accenture and SNCF. The startup employs 60 people and is based in Paris.
