
EQT focuses on digital and tech with triple hire
Technology entrepreneur Hjalmar Winbladh has joined EQT alongside Lars Jörnow and Kees Koolen to boost the GP’s digital and technological know-how.
Winbladh helped found several technology business, including mobile phone messaging business Sendit, which was sold to Microsoft for $127.5m in 1999.
EQT has previously made use of Winbladh's services as an independent adviser on digital- and technology-focused deals.
Lars Jörnow joins the GP from mobile games developer King Digital Entertainment – publisher of the popular game Candy Crush – where he held several positions from 2009 onwards. Most recently, Jörnow was vice president of King Labs.
Kees Koolen is chairman of the board of Brazilian dairy farm Agri Brasil and former chairman and CEO of Booking.com. He is also a board member of cab-booking business Uber.
Winbladh has already joined the firm, while Jörnow and Koolen will join EQT later in 2015.
