Axcel hires Nyegaard as CFO
Danish private equity firm Axcel has hired former Nordea executive Peter Nyegaard as CFO, replacing Lars Thomassen.
Nyegaard joins from Nordea following a 25-year career at the Nordic bank, where he was most recently chief operating officer of wholesale banking and country senior executive in Denmark. He is also the chair of investment bank FIH Erhvervsbank's board of directors.
The new CFO will assume his new role from August, when Thomassen steps down after 13 years with the GP.
Nyegaard's appointment comes shortly after Axcel resolved its long-running managing partner succession saga, having presented Icopal CFO Christian Schmidt Jacobsen as founding partner Christian Frigast's replacement.
Axcel has said it expects to raise its fifth fund in 2016.
