Öresund and Creades exit Klarna shares
Investment Уresund and Creades have sold their shares in Swedish online payment company Klarna Holding for SEK 172m.
The deal values the company at SEK 8.2bn in total. Switzerland-based Partners Group is understood to be acquiring Klarna. The firm was unable to confirm this to unquote" due to the transaction not having completed yet.
Öresund and Creades are selling their shares via jointly-owned Anrak Holding. Creades owns 59% of Anrak, while Öresund owns the remaining 41%.
Anrak's remaining stake in Klarna stands at around 2% and is valued at SEK 164m. Thereby the value of Öresund's remaining indirect ownership of shares is SEK 67m.
Earlier this year, Öresund and Creades sold Klarna shares to Harvest Growth. In May 2012, Atomico acquired Klarna shares worth SEK 100m from Öresund and Creades.
Company
Klarna was founded in 2005 by Sebastian Siemiatkowski, Niklas Adalberth and Victor Jacobsson, who are still significant shareholders in the company. The online payment company is headquartered in Stockholm.
Klarna is present in seven European markets, has in excess of 10 million customers and around 750 employees.

Fredrik Grevelius is the CEO of Öresund. Stefan Charette is the CEO of Creades. Niklas Adalberth is co-founder and deputy CEO of Klarna.
