HitecVision acquires parts of Scana Offshore
HitecVision has acquired three divisions of Scana Offshore, an oil & gas services and equipment business, from parent company Scana Industrier for тЌ24.1m.
HitecVision acquired the businesses via its sixth fund, which closed on its $1.5bn hard-cap in December 2011 after four months of fundraising. It set up newco Aquamarine Subsea to regroup the three companies.
The acquisition of Scana Offshore is part of HitecVision's plan to develop Aquamarine into a services and solutions provider in the drilling, work-over and production market sectors. The addition of three of the Scana Offshore companies will provide Aquamarine with hubs based in the North Sea and the Gulf of Mexico.

Scana Offshore, part of listed entity Scana Industrier, consists of five companies. HitecVision acquired three units specifically: Stavanger-based Scana Offshore Technology, which conducts maintenance, repair and re-certification of drilling and subsea equipment; Oslo-based Scana Offshore Vestby, which focuses on thermal coating of critical components for drilling and subsea equipment; and Houston-headquartered Scana Offshore Services, which delivers customised solutions for rig and platform operations.
