BDMI backs Whisbi
Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments (BDMI) has made an equity investment in online communications service provider Whisbi.
The capital injection brings the company's total funding to $2.5m and follows Active Venture Partners' original investment earlier this year.
The funding will further facilitate the international expansion of the firm across Europe, South America and the US.
Previous funding
In January 2012, Active Venture Partners backed Whisbi to support the international expansion of the firm and the opening of a US office.
Company
Founded in 2009 and based in Madrid and Barcelona, Whisbi is a technology firm that enables companies to increase their internet sales. Whisbi's services combine computer and phone communication so that any user experiencing problems browsing a web page can request assistance immediately. Web users are required to enter a name and phone number to receive a phone call from a Whisbi video agent. The firm aims to increase its clients' internet sales through immediate assistance offered online.
Whisbi has more than one million users in Spain and has recently opened offices in London and São Paulo.
