Suma Capital launches new fund
Spanish GP Suma Capital has launched a new fund to support Catalonian SMEs.
The fund has a target size of €100m and will invest €5-15m in firms with a turnover of €10-100m and an EBITDA of at least €2m, according to local reports.
The fund currently holds capital commitments totalling €20m from the Catalan Finance Institute (ICF).
The GP prefers buyouts as an investment strategy, but also considers minority stakes and moderate leverage. Suma's most recent investment was the acquisition of 48% of e-learning firm Gestión del Conocimiento, which took the GP's stake to 98%.
Suma refused to comment at this time.
