Fondamenta and IMI back MilkyWay
Italian investors Fondamenta and IMI Fondi Chiusi have made a €720,000 capital injection into extreme biking and sports equipment firm MilkyWay.
Several business angels also participated in the round.
The fresh capital will allow the company to expand its range of products on the extreme sports market and to develop an online community of extreme sports fans.
Fondamenta invested capital from the TT Venture vehicle, which is focused on high-growth technology companies and holds around €65m. IMI Fondi Chiusi, a subsidiary of Intesa Sanpaolo, committed capital from Atlante Seed, a €10m fund dedicated to seed and early-stage investments.

Founded in 2011 and based in Modena, MilkyWay operates in the design, manufacture and retail of bike-trial and extreme sports equipment. The company was founded by Jacopo Vigna, a mechanical engineer with experience in the racing departments of Ducati and Aprilia.
The company employs more than 15 staff.
