
Quadrivio launches new venture fund
Italian investor Quadrivio has launched a €100m fund to back local technology companies.
The firm has simultaneously announced the appointment of Elizabeth Marie Robinson as investment director in the venture capital division, and the promotion of Valentina Bocca to chief investment officer of the new fund.
TT Venture Due is the successor to TT Venture, which held a final close on €64m in 2008. Portfolio companies include MilkyWay – which designs, manufactures and retails trial biking and extreme sports equipment – and Personal Factory, a high-tech building materials company.
The GP is also reported to be considering the launch of a new clean energy fund.

TT Venture Due will invest in Italian start-ups in the life sciences, medtech, new materials and cleantech sectors.

The GP's previous backers include a range of Italian banking foundations. According to unquote" data, the previous vehicle, TT Venture, counted Fondazione Cariplo as its cornerstone investor. Further capital commitments were provided by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo, Fondazione Cassa dei Risparmi di Forlì, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Modena, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Parma e MCP di Busseto and Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio della Provincia di Teramo, as well as the Chamber of Commerce of Milan.
