
Altamar launches eighth fund in fundraising flurry
Spanish fund-of-funds manager Altamar Capital has launched its eighth international vehicle.
This is the second vehicle the manager is raising this year; earlier this month, the firm filed documents with the Spanish regulator for a €200m direct fund to target distressed real estate opportunities in the local market. Fundraising will begin in April, a source told unquote".
Investments
Global Private Equity Global Program VIII has a €400m target and a €500m hard-cap and will focus on buyout and growth capital vehicles, as well as opportunities in the secondaries market.
Investors
The firm is expected to target its existing investor base, which includes pension funds, insurance companies and Spanish family offices. Commitments to previous funds have been provided by Spanish and Latin American players, with a bias towards the former.
