Carlyle acquires Telvent from Aurelius
The Carlyle Group has acquired Telvent Global Services, a Spanish information technology company, from Aurelius.
Capital for the transaction was drawn from Carlyle European Technology Partners III (CETP III), which was launched in January 2014 with a target of €500m.
Crescent Capital Group provided a debt package to support the transaction.
The deal marks the latest in a long line of Carlyle acquisitions in the technology sector, including Telecable, Numericable, and Completel, among others. In July 2014 it acquired a majority stake in Dutch managed network operator Expereo, with capital drawn from CETP III.
Aurelius originally acquired Telvent from French trade vendor Schneider Electric in December 2013.
Company
Headquartered in Madrid and founded in 1941, Telvent is a provider of IT infrastructure. The company, which has a headcount of around 400, also provides hosting services from five data centres across Spain and Portugal.
