Oxford Capital makes senior promotions

Oxford Capital has promoted two of its investment managers, Oliver Hughes and Martyn Holman (pictured), to investment director.
Hughes joined Oxford in 2012 to build the renewable energy infrastructure investment portfolio, which has almost trebled in size in the last year, according to the GP. He has developed renewable assets, with a specific focus on solar photovoltaics and wind power, and is now responsible for leading infrastructure investments.
Prior to joining Oxford, Hughes clocked up 15 years of experience in the finance industry, starting with Baring Brothers. He spent more than 10 years based in Asia with ING Barings, focusing primarily on the structured finance markets, where he developed and designed asset-backed transaction structures in a variety of asset classes and new legal jurisdictions.
Holman's new role will see him take responsibility for making new growth capital investments and managing some of Oxford Capital's existing portfolio companies. Holman joined the company in 2013 from Google. Prior to this, he joined Betfair in its initial stages as director of new ventures and subsequently co-founded LMAX, a financial trading platform.
William Orde has also been promoted to investment associate. He is part of Oxford's growth capital team, sourcing and screening potential deals across the communications, healthcare and sustainability sectors. Orde previously worked at corporate finance house Aquaa Partners.
In the last year, Oxford Capital has made growth capital investments in Abiquo, an enterprise cloud management software provider, and Linkdex, an organic marketing platform provider. Since 2012, the company has scored three exits, reaping up to 4.7x money for its investors. Oxford has also extended its presence in London by opening a larger Soho-based office.
