Octopus raises extra £50m for AI-focused businesses
Octopus Investments has completed a ТЃ50m fundraising for Octopus Titan Venture Capital Trust, with the aim of investing in firms using artificial intelligence and machine learning technology.
Launched in 2007, the Octopus Titan VCT currently has £380m in assets under management. Its current portfolio exceeds 50 companies, including holiday firm Secret Escapes.
Exited investments include Zoopla Property Group, digital keyboard developer SwiftKey and fitness club chain Gym Box.
The top-up takes Octopus's fundraising for the last year to £120m.
The fresh capital will be mainly invested in firms using artificial intelligence and machine learning technology. The latest fundraising follows a £70m fundraising launched in August 2016, which reached capacity within five months.
