Gunn steps down as SL Capital partner
Graeme Gunn has stepped down as partner of SL Capital Partners after 19 years with the firm.
Gunn said he is considering what steps he will take next in his career, having spent more than 20 years working in private equity. Prior to joining SL Capital in 1999, Gunn spent two years as an investment manager at Dunedin Capital Partners.
In his role at SL Capital, Gunn oversaw primary and secondary fund investments as well as co-investments.
The development comes three months after SL Capital's parent Standard Life obtained regulatory approval to merge with Aberdeen Asset Management, giving birth to a European asset manager with significant exposure to private equity. At the time of the deal's initial announcement, Standard Life said the merger was expected to lead to around 800 job losses, equivalent to almost 10% of the consolidated company's workforce, and save a total of £200m per year.
