Ian Marwood to leave Grant Thornton
The head of Grant Thornton's corporate finance team in Leeds, Ian Marwood, is leaving the company at the end of the year.
The partner said he was pursuing a change of direction after 25 years in corporate finance but would continue to work with Grant Thornton on a consultancy basis for some clients as well as take on independent advisory roles with a number of entrepreneurial businesses.
Marwood spent 11 years at Grant Thornton, advising on acquisitions, disposals, MBOs, MBIs, fundraising, strategic advice and succession management. He worked alongside partners Will Oxley and Ali Sharifi and directors Steve Hammell, Jon Steed and Phil Whaley. Sharifi will expand his remit to cover corporate finance in the wider north, following Marwood's departure.
Deals Marwood advised on include ISIS's acquisition of Onyx last year.
