
BC Partners buys Mergermarket
BC Partners has emerged as the successful bidder for Pearson Group’s news service Mergermarket.
It was revealed in mid-September that the company had attracted several private equity suitors, including HgCapital, Exponent and Advent International. The asset was acquired for £382m.
Following the deal, BC Partners will support the company's growth through developing its products and services, expanding its international customer base and targeting acquisition opportunities.
The deal follows BC's recent acquisition of another publishing business, Springer Science Business Media.

Beringea sold Mergermarket to the Financial Times Group, a subsidiary of Pearson, in August 2006.
Company
Mergermarket provides corporate financial news and analysis to advisory firms, investment banks, law firms, private equity houses and corporations. Its brands include Mergermarket, Debtwire, DealReporter, Infinata, Wealthmonitor and Xtract Research.
The company's main offering is a subscription-based news service.
The company was established in 1999 and is active in 65 countries. Mergermarket employs more than 800 people, 500 of whom are journalists and analysts.
