Oxford Capital leads £1.9m investment in Arkivum
Oxford Capital has led an investment round worth up to £1.9m in Arkivum, a digital archiving solutions provider, taking a significant minority stake in the company.
The funding will be used to accelerate the commercial rollout of Arkivum's services and to expand its marketing activity.
Capital for the deal was drawn from the Oxford Gateway Fund, with existing investors IP Group and Parkwalk Advisors also taking part in the round.
Oxford Capital stated that the expanding data archiving market, in particular for the healthcare, financial services, education and media sectors, was a key driver behind its investment. It sourced the deal through Arkivum's chairman Jim McKenna, who also chairs another company in the GP's portfolio, PowerOasis.
In the past year, Oxford Capital has led a funding round for online marketing platform provider Linkdex and a $5m funding round for Spain- and UK-based software business Abiquo.

Founded in 2011 as a spinout from University of Southampton, Arkivum is a provider of large-scale data management and storage solutions. It is based in Chippenham, England, and has a headcount of 15.
