
Index leads £5.2m round for Octopus-backed Property Partner
Index Ventures has led a £5.2m round for London-based Property Partner, an Octopus Investments-backed crowdfunding platform for buy-to-let properties.
The fresh capital will enable the company, which currently focuses on London and the south-east of England, to invest in properties across the UK. Property Partner stated it ultimately intends to create a "global stock exchange" for residential property.
Following completion of the deal Ed Wray, co-founder of online gambling company Betfair, will join the business's board of directors.
Previous funding
In September 2014, Octopus led a £1.25m round for Property Partner alongside Ed Wray, European accelerator fund Seedcamp and a group of private investors. At the time, unquote" spoke to Jo Oliver, a director in the ventures team at Octopus, about the deal.
Company
London-based Property Partner is a crowdfunding platform allowing people to make investments of £50 and upwards in buy-to-let properties. To date the business has attracted investments from around 1,000 people.

Neil Rimer, co-founder of Index Ventures, will take a seat on the board at Property Partner. Jo Oliver currently has a seat on the board. Daniel Gandesha is founder and CEO of Property Partner.
