BGF injects £10m into Kids Planet
Business Growth Fund (BGF) has bought a minority stake in UK-based children’s nurseries business Kids Planet for £10m.
BGF acquired its minority stake in the business from the founding family. The company aims to use the fresh capital to support its expansion through the opening of five nurseries during the next two years.
Kids Planet CEO Clare Roberts stated that the business had previously grown with backing from Barclays, before turning to an external investor for its next stage of development.
As part of the deal, BGF appointed Mark McMenemy - who has experience working with businesses including Mothercare, Monsoon and WHSmith - as non-executive director at Kids Planet.
