
MML’s Optionis buys pub accountant ARC
Professional services business Optionis, backed by MML Capital, has acquired specialist pub accountant ARC Licensed Trade Consultancy.
The transaction marks the sixth bolt-on deal for Optionis since receiving backing from MML two years ago, and brings the company's headcount up to 350.
Following the deal, ARC founder Anthony Ringer will join Optionis as business development director of the ClearSky Business division.
Previous funding
MML acquired Optionis from former backer Inflexion Private Equity in January 2014.
Inflexion supported the £24m buyout of Optionis (known then as Parasol) in 2006.
Company
Founded in 2009, ARC provides accountancy, payroll and consultancy services to the licensed trade industry. The business is headquartered in Carlisle.
ARC's clients include pubs operated by Punch Taverns, Star Pubs & Bars, JW Lees and Robinsons Brewery, many of which are based in Cumbria, Lancashire and Scotland.
The Optionis group comprises several divisions including ClearSky and Parasol, and generates combined turnover of £314m.
