Mayfair acquires Hotels & More
Mayfair Equity Partners has backed the management buyout of Hotels & More from Austrian business Travel Partner.
Mayfair stated the deal was attractive because of growth in the UK tourism market. According to the Office for National Statistics' International Passenger Survey, 34.4 million visitors came to the UK in 2014, spending £21.8bn. The top two inbound tourism markets to the UK in 2014 by number of visits were France and Germany. According to Mayfair, the UK inbound market for group holidays is worth £1.3bn and growing at around 8% each year.
Following the deal, Mayfair will support the company's expansion by strengthening its reach in Germany and France, as well as moving into the Nordic region, Spain, Switzerland and Benelux.
