
BVCA chief Florman resigns

BVCA chief Mark Florman has resigned after just over two years in the post.
Florman became CEO of the BVCA in March 2011, taking over from Simon Walker, who headed the UK's industry body for three years.
He was previously a principal at Doughty Hanson and co-founded Nordic M&A boutique Maizels, Westerberg & Co.
He will formally step down as CEO on 1 May, but will stay wiith the BVCA and take on the role of strategic adviser and industry ambassador. This role will enable Florman to work to strengthen the link between private equity and venture capital investment and reviving economic growth in Britain.
He will be succeeded by Tim Hames, currently director for research, public affairs and communications and campaigns for the BVCA. Hames is a former lexcturer at Oxford University, was a columnist and assistant editor at The Times and served as a special adviser to the House of Commons Speaker. He will become director general of the BVCA.
