General Atlantic hires Inditex's Isla as global senior advisor
Global growth equity firm General Atlantic has hired former Inditex Executive Chairman Pablo Isla to support its consumer and technology investments.
In his new role, Pablo Isla will focus on the digital acceleration of the firm's consumer and technology investments providing strategic support to General Atlantic's global network, according to a press release.
Based in Europe, Isla will utilise his 17 years' experience overseeing Inditex Group's digital transformation to counsel investment teams and portfolio companies in the importance of innovation and power of digital adoption.
With the new hire, General Atlantic, which has more than USD 84bn in assets under management inclusive of all products as of year-end 2021, seeks to enhance its portfolio company support and broaden its global network.
Prior to his leadership tenure at Inditex, Isla served as CEO of Franco-Spanish multinational Atladis Group, and was general counsel to financial services firm Banco Popular.
Isla was named the best performing CEO in the world by the Harvard Business Review in 2017 and 2018. He has served as a Director on Nestlé's Board of Directors since 2018. He also serves as Chairman of the International Advisory Board at IE University and as a director on several foundation and institutional boards, including the Prado Museum and the Fundación La Caixa.
General Atlantic is currently deploying equity via GA 2021, which held a final close in November 2021 on USD 7.8bn.
