UK - ECI closes ninth fund on £430m

The vehicle significantly exceeded its £400m target and is substantially larger than its predecessor, which closed on £255m in April 2005. A total of 27 investors committed to the fund, with 90% of the capital raised from the firms existing investor base. Commitments came from a broad mix of pension funds, insurance companies, fund-of-funds, endowments and family offices, primarily from across Europe and the US, with two LPs from Asia.

ECI 9 will continue the firms strategy of targeting buyouts, buy-ins and development capital transactions with an enterprise value range of between £10m and £150m.
