FRANCE - Balderton leads $12m Talend funding

Balderton Capital has provided $9m as part of a $12m third round of financing for Talend, an open-source software developer, with returning investor AGF Private Equity supplying the balance.

Founded in September 2005 after three years of R&D, Talend provides ETL tool open-source software. The company's principal product is Talend Open Studio, an open source data integration solution that was introduced over two years ago and has had around 3.3 million downloads. The company generated a turnover of $10m in 2008.

Since its creation Talend has received more than $20m in investments.
