
Bill Gates, Tenaya et al. invest $35m in ResearchGate
Bill Gates, Tenaya Capital and other investors have completed a series-A financing round for ResearchGate, a professional network for scientists.
Dragoneer Investment Group, Thrive Capital and existing investors Benchmark and Founders Fund also participated in the investment round.

ResearchGate was founded in 2008 by physicians Ijag Madisch and Soren Hofmayer. Based in Berlin and Cambridge, Massachusetts, ResearchGate is a research community that connects scientists, data and resources.
The company currently has a network in excess of 2.9 million members.
People
Ben Boyer is the managing director of Tenaya. Matt Cohler is a general partner at Benchmark and a member of the company's board. Ijad Madisch is the co-founder and CEO of ResearchGate.
