IK acquires Transnorm from Equita
IK Investment Partners has acquired Transnorm Beteiligungen from private equity house Equita Management.
IK used its IK VII Fund to finance the transaction. Equita was the majority shareholder and had held the company since June 2007.
IK stated it sees significant growth potential for Transnorm as the e-commerce sector grows and global air traffic increases. It will invest in further expansion and consolidation of the company's position worldwide. Transnorm will also develop new products in order to enter new segments.
The deal marks IK's eighth investment from its seventh vehicle and its fifth transaction in 2014. In June, IK divested Minimax Viking to ICG for €1.3bn. A week later, it sold portfolio company GHD GesundHeits GmbH Deutschland to Nordic Capital. The company was understood to have an enterprise value of €500m.
Previous funding

Nord Holding bought the business in 2004 in a management buyout from listed company Swisslog. The deal value was reported to stand at around €25m. Senior debt and a working capital facility was provided by HypoVereinsbank.
