Project A backs $2m funding round for Qunomedical
Project A Ventures has led a $2m funding round for Berlin-based digital health platform Qunomedical.
The funding will be used to implement the rebranding and grow the brand recognition of Qunomedical, formerly known as Junomedical. The growth strategy is to strengthen its presence in English-speaking markets and to expand in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Potential trademark conflicts in the US and the launch of the German website contributed to the name change.
In April 2016, Project A provided an initial seven-digit seed funding round for the startup.
Company
Founded in 2015 and based in Berlin, Qunomedical provides patients with information on treatments, doctors and hospitals worldwide. It works with clinics in 25 countries. The service is currently free for patients, as the startup generates revenue by charging the clinics.
