HTGF in seed round for 8sense
Germany-based VC High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) has led a seven-digit seed funding round for 8sense, a health app for back pain based in Rosenheim.
Thieme Group, a Stuttgart-based medical information services group, and an unnamed angel investor from the BayStartUp Network also joined the round.
HTGF used its High-Tech Gründerfonds III fund for the investment. The vehicle held a final close on €316.5m in May 2018. It makes initial investments of €1-3m in German technology startups that are less than three years old.
The fresh capital will be used to invest in product development, particularly the development and optimisation of algorithms, and the analysis and evaluation of body movements. The company expects to hold a market launch for its products in April 2019.
Previous funding
Beurer Group, a retailer of health and home electronics, invested a six-figure amount in the startup in July 2018.
