Data Artisans raises €5.5m series-A from b-to-v et al.
Tengelmann Ventures, b-to-v Partners and Intel Capital have invested €5.5m in a series-A for Data Artisans, a provider of low-latency data stream processing.
The funding will be used to build better support for users of Apache Flink, and to further develop analytics products based on the Apache Flink data processing framework. Intel Capital director Erik Jorgensen has joined Florian Schweitzer, partner at b-to-v Partners, and Data Artisans CEO Kostas Tzoumas on the company's advisory board.

Founded in 2014 and based in Berlin, Data Artisans develops data analysis technology under the umbrella of the Apache Flink project. Apache Flink is a new open-source general-purpose engine for analysis of Hadoop data and beyond.
