EQT Ventures hires Andreas Thorstensson
EQT’s venture arm, EQT Ventures, has hired Toborrow chief technology officer Andreas Thorstensson as partner.
Thorstensson joins from the Swedish fintech startup Toborrow – which he co-founded – to work on EQT Ventures' in-house software platform Mother Brain, as well as evaluate potential investments.
He has a long history of involvement in the Swedish tech sector, having co-founded several startups including SK Gaming, Njuice and The North Alliance.
EQT has not made any formal announcements about the EQT Ventures fund yet, but initial reports from market sources suggest the GP is targeting a $500m fund.
Thorstensson will join EQT Ventures' existing team, which includes entrepreneurs Hjalmar Winbladh, Lars Jörnow and Kees Koolen, who were the first hires made for the venture arm.
