
Caixa's vLex buys Quolaw
Online legal research platform vLex, backed by Caixa Capital Risc, has acquired Argentine firm Quolaw, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company aimed at legal professionals.
The bolt-on expands vLex's footprint in Latin America and boosts the firm's product range.
Caixa is also a shareholder in Lexdir, which span out of vLex. The VC led a €420,000 funding round for the spinout, an online directory of legal professionals, in January 2014.
Previous funding
In 2012, Caixa Capital Risc committed €4m to vLex to support the company's expansion in Latin America and underpin market consolidation. Caixa invested via Caixa Capital TIC.
In 2000, 3i committed €3m to the business in a deal led by Felipe Muntadas and Pablo Gallo.

Founded in 2011 and based in Argentina, Quolaw is a SaaS business that enables lawyers to manage their legal practice anywhere. The company was accelerated at Wayra, Telefonica's tech accelerator, and Plug and Play Spain.

Sergio Pérez, investment director of Caixa Capital TIC, led the investment in vLex in 2012.
