
LVP et al. inject $1.4m into Winko
London Venture Partners (LVP), Initial Capital and Kibo Ventures have invested $1.4m in Winko Games, a Barcelona-based mobile games developer.
The seed investment will fund the development of new titles by the company, which was launched earlier this year. Winko is also in the process of hiring new staff.
LVP launched a seed fund focused on social- mobile- and tablet-game developer start-ups in August 2014. The firm's general partner, Paul Heydon, told unquote" the size of the vehicle is between $6-12.5m.
The VC recently led a $1.2m round for Finnish game and software developer Shark Punch and took part in a €2m round for German competitive gaming platform Dojo Madness.
Meanwhile, Kibo recently took part in a €2.3m round for Captio, another Barcelona-based start-up that develops business expense management apps. Another of its portfolio companies, Madrid-based JobAndTalent, recently raised a €23m series-B from Pelayo Cortina Koplowitz, founder of Inversiones Petroleras Iberoamericanas.
