
ArchiMed buys Italian biotech business Micromed
Healthcare-dedicated buyout house ArchiMed has bought Italian medical devices manufacturer Micromed.
As part of the deal, the GP fully acquired the Italian business, alongside its French subsidiary Micromed France, via its 2013-vintage Med I FIA fund. At the time of publication, financial details for the transaction had not been disclosed.
The deal marks the second transaction for ArchiMed in the Italian healthcare sector. In September 2015, the GP acquired a minority stake in Italian dental group Primo.

Founded in 1982 and headquartered in Mogliano Veneto, Micromed produces electronic medical devices focusing on neurophysiology diagnostics. The company develops and manufactures both hardware and software systems.
