EIF commits Euro 26.5m to Belgian venture capitalists
The European Investment Fund has invested Euro 26.5m in three Belgian venture capital funds: E-Capital, Fagus and Privast Capital Partners. It is understood that Fagus, managed by Foris Private Equity, received in the region of Euro 12.6m, and that Euro 7.5m was committed to E-Capital, raising its total capital to Euro 35m. The EIF is now the largest single investor in E-Capital with 22%. Having invested Euro 1.7bn in a total of 140 funds globally, the EIF will invest about Euro 800m per year over the next five years in other funds.
