Life Sciences Partners (LSP), has announced that Andy Allars will be joining its investment team as a part time venture partner. Allars has 15 years experience in life science venture capital investment management and, until last year, was head of life science investing at Prelude Ventures Ltd. During his career he has been involved in founding and/or early-stage investment in a number of companies including Acambis Plc, Oxford Biomedica Plc and Quadrant Healthcare Plc.Martijn Kleijwegt, Managing Partner at LSP, commented: 'I've known Andy for many years and I would like to welcome him to our team. Andy brings a wealth of experience to LSP and enhances our knowledge of the UK market. Although we have historically invested in the UK, we are now in a position to be more active and hope to co-invest more often with our UK colleagues.' Allars commented: 'I have co-invested with LSP several times, so I know their team well and am looking forward to working with them. LSP has a new fund to invest and we will be seeking deals at all stages from University spinouts to pre-IPO.' Allars is also managing partner of Anauel LLP, a venture management services firm.
