
3i targets ABX Logistics?
According to reports, 3i has signed a memorandum of understanding with SNCB/NMBS, the Belgian railway company, in regards to the acquisition of the latter's ABX Logistics unit. These reports go on to say that the offer could be around the E50m mark, and is pending the usual authority approval that is expected within a few months. 3i had no comment on the speculation.Headquartered in Brussels, ABX Logistics provides a host of services. These include air, sea and road freight services worldwide, contract logistics services such as warehousing, packaging and inventory management, logistics for promotional and cultural events, exhibitions and trade fairs, and also express delivery services. It employs around 10,000 staff in 30 countries.
