Life Science Partners opens Munich office

Life Science Partners BV (LSP), the Amsterdam-based venture capital firm, has announced the opening of its office in Munich. Dr Joachim Rothe, former managing director at MPM Capital GmbH, has joined LSP as a partner to lead the firm’s German operations alongside Mark Wegter, partner at LSP since early 2001.

‘The opening of our office in Munich is a further building block in our European strategy and gives us better access to the human life sciences market in Germany,’ commented Martijn Kleijwegt, managing partner at LSP.

Prior to working at MPM Capital, Dr Rothe worked as an engagement manager on assignments in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries for McKinsey & Co. He holds a diploma in biochemistry from the Free University in Berlin and obtained a PhD from the University of Freiburg.
