GIMV's total net profit rises 20% to 96m
GIMV’s results for 2001 (limited consolidation) show a net group profit of EUR 96m, an increase of 20% on 2000. Through the sale of stakes in companies such as Telenet, BarcoNet and Groep H Essers, GIMV realised a total gain of EUR 248m, an increase of EUR 133m from the previous year. On the other hand, GIMV entered a total amount of EUR 175m in write-downs and losses. In 2001, GIMV invested a total of EUR 210m, of which EUR 63 was invested in Flanders. As of February 2002, GIMV’s net asset value amounted to EUR 1.199bn, or EUR 51.75 per share.
