Main Capital opens DACH office in Düsseldorf
Dutch private equity house Main Capital Partners has opened a new office in Düsseldorf as a base for investments in the DACH region.
The office opened on 1 August and comes alongside the appointment of four investment professionals with "a good understanding of the German market and culture" who will work in the new office, the GP said in a statement.
With the German software sector's presence in North Rhine-Westphalia, Main Capital is convinced that it can better support Benelux-based software groups expanding into the DACH area and also offer its expertise and network to software companies in the region.
The team will be headed by Main Capital's senior investment team member Sven van Berge Henegouwen, with the overarching supervision of managing partner Charly Zwemstra. The GP plans to grow the team further as it establishes a stronger presence.
Similarly to Main's Benelux team, Main's DACH office will focus on the software industry. Aside from investing in new software groups, the German team will also assist Benelux-based groups with buy-and-build strategies in the DACH region.
Main Capital has previously shown interest in the region: last year, the GP invested in German fintech software group b+m Informatik; in December 2015, Flensburg-based Daarwin was integrated to SaaS healthcare portfolio company Regas; and more recently, its portfolio company EuroSystems bolted-on German Düsseldorf-based company Abit.
