AlpInvest hires Bagijn as primaries business head
Alpinvest Partners has appointed Ruulke Bagijn as head and managing director of its primaries business.
Bagijn will be based in Amsterdam and will begin in her new position on 1 September 2017.
The managing director is joining from her previous role as global head of real assets/private equity at Axa Investment Managers. Prior to that, Bagijn was co-chief investment officer for investment management and chief investment officer for private markets at PGGM, a Dutch pension fund manager for which she had previously set up and led a new private equity team.
Bagijn previously also held several senior roles with ABN Amro, where she successively spent time in the firm's London-based infrastructure capital group and Amsterdam-based M&A advisory group, before heading the principal investment group in London.
In her new role at AlpInvest, she will focus on strengthening the group's existing primaries business and will aim to create new investment opportunities.
AlpInvest is now part of Carlyle's Investment Solutions segment, which manages private equity and real estate assets worldwide.
