
Gilde Equity Management hires van Breukelen
Gilde Equity Management has hired Jurgen van Breukelen as managing partner to strengthen its position in mid-market private equity both in Benelux and in Germany.
Jurgen van Breukelen started his career at KPMG, where he worked for 21 years. He covered various roles in the firm, such as head of corporate finance, advisory, clients & markets, and CEO of KPMG in the Netherlands. Since 2011, he has also been a member of the global executive team and global board of KPMG, where he chaired KPMG's global quality & risk committee.
Jurgen left KPMG in 2015 to become a senior adviser within the PE house Permira Advisers and Barclays Bank. Today, he is non-executive director of agriculture innovator Urus Group, and chairman of the board of Altice, a telecoms and media company listed on Euronext Amsterdam. Furthermore, he also serves on the board of Stichting Alzheimer Nederland (the Netherlands' Alzheimer Foundation) and on the advisory board of the Rotterdam School of Management.
Gilde is a Benelux-focused mid-market private equity firm, with around €1bn in assets under management. The GP is currently investing via its Gilde Equity Management (GEM) Benelux Fund IV vehicle, closed on €300m in Q4 2017.
According to Unquote Data, Gilde vehicles have never invested in businesses outside of the Benelux region.
