General Atlantic hires van den Boog
US-based GP General Atlantic has hired Loek van den Boog as special adviser and chairman of General Atlantic Netherlands.
In his new role, van den Boog will support the firm's investment teams and portfolio companies with his software and technology expertise.
He has returned to the firm having previously worked there as special adviser between 1996-2004.
Van den Boog is a software industry expert, independent consultant and private investor, currently serving as a chairman of the supervisory board of Five Degrees, a digital banking technology provider. He also advises Vallstein, a provider of bank relationship management services based in Amsterdam.
Van den Boog has previously held executive-level positions in software companies, as well as served as a chairman or member of the board of private and public companies like Oracle, Mendix, Global Collect, Myriad Group, FICS and Patni Computer Systems. He served as executive director and interim CEO at Patni between 2009-2010.
The EMEA team of General Atlantic comprises 27 investment professionals based in London, Amsterdam and Munich. The GP has been investing in EMEA since 1989.
