
Waterland eyes logistics companies Marinetrans, BGL
Waterland Private Equity has submitted a regulatory filing to wholly acquire Netherlands-based logistics companies Marinetrans Group and Best Global Logistics (BGL).
The firm registered a regulatory filing with the German competition authority on 2 August 2019.
Waterland had not replied to a request for comment at the time of publication.
The GP is currently investing via Waterland Private Equity Fund VII, which closed on €2bn in 2017.
Marinetrans focuses exclusively on the transportation of marine spare parts. The business uses air, sea and road transportation for delivery. Founded in 1978, Marinetrans is based in Rotterdam.
BGL is a logistics provider active in air freight shipments, ocean freight, road transport services and rail transport, among others. Founded in 2008, the company is headquartered in Lijnden, has offices in Rotterdam and employs more than 50 people, according to its website.
