Newion to start raising two new funds in Q4
Dutch venture capital investor Newion is getting ready to hit the fundraising trail in Q4 2021 for a couple of vehicles, co-founder and managing partner Patrick Polak told Unquote.
The VC is planning to launch a €125m fund and another one with a €50-75m target, Polak said.
The larger fund will support seed and series-A rounds, while the second vehicle will target a smaller number of more advanced investment rounds. For LPs that invest in both funds, there will be no carry and management fee for participating in the second fund, Polak said. Newion welcomes approaches by suitors from across Europe and possibly the UK.
The VC's previous fund, Newion III, has 50% of its €85m deployed, Polak said. The vehicle needs to be 65% deployed by July, he added. The fund is eyeing another six investments as it enters its final 15 months of investment period. Investors in Newion III are institutional players, family offices and individuals.
