Airbridge Investments contemplates new fundraise
Netherlands-based Airbridge Investments is mulling raising a new fund of €100-150m next year, according to founder and partner Rick van Boeckel.
The decision to launch the new fund has not been finalised yet and will likely be made in early 2022, van Boeckel said. The initial founders will likely contribute between 30% and 50% of the total amount, and the rest will be raised from family offices and wealthy individuals, he said.
The venture capital firm has deployed 65% of its current €60m fund, Airbridge Equity Partners, van Boeckel said. The fund is wholly funded by the VC's founders and was launched in 2017. It has not made any divestments yet; the fund has no expiration date, and investments have no maximum holding period.
Airbridge backs technology firms with a focus on e-commerce and software services in western and eastern Europe. The primary focus is on the B2B space, but B2C is also considered. Targets must be post-revenue, generating more than €75,000 per month, according to van Boeckel.
